BEGININGS

Incorporated as a Private Limited Company in 1941, the Company was formed to function as a house agency for the erstwhile National Tobacco Co. of India Ltd. and its associate companies. During the period that it remained a house agency (upto March 1978), there was continuous interaction between National Tobacco and the agency in the sphere of marketing. Senior agency personnel often had crossfunctional postings in the client company and vice versa.

The ownership changed hands in March 1978 and a team of yound professionals took over management. Today, it is run by advertising and marketing people with proven backgrounds and is involved in diverse industrial and consumer product areas.

The agency has been accredited with the Indian & Eastern Newspaper Society since 1947 and has enjoyed an unblemished record with the Society since accreditation. Directorate of Advertising & Visual Publicity, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India accredited the agency in 1981. It is a member of Audit Bureau of Circulations Ltd. and is accredited with All India Radio and Doordarshan.

Reasons

In 1985, the agency found that, in general, the big agency has the expertise but does not have the time to involve itself with understanding the client's changing needs (except in cases of some large and ongoing accounts). The small agency does not have the required expertise.

Against this scenario, ACI decided to equip itself with highly professional expertise and limit scale to be able to give quality time. The agency decided to work as extension of client's marketing organisation and defined its 'position' as under :

'ACI has the expertise and the time for you'.

 
What the agency can do

ACI renders a total complement of services to its clients. From designing a product to planning a campaign... from product promotion to public relations... from outdoor displays to exhibitions in trade fairs. From analysing a client's needs to finding the right communication.

As it has done in the past, the agency is currently working on national press campaigns involving detailed media planning, international exhibitions, marketing research for consumer as well as industrial goods, designing and production of corporate and technical literature of international standard, calendars, T.V. films and advertising short films, including screening of both. The agency has considerable experience in planning and execution of Dealer Conferences with complete audio-visual back-up.
